ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State begins its GAC campaign versus Southeastern at home on Saturday and Sunday.
Game one and two will be played on Saturday with game one starting at 12 p.m. and game two will begin at 2 p.m.. The final game of the series will be played on Sunday at 12 p.m..Â

Head coach
Joel Worthington will be at the helm of his first conference series of his Reddie career.

The Reddies are currently off to one of their best starts in years. HSU sits at 6-2 overall with five straight victories. The Reddies have not suited up for a game since February 7 due to weather.

Last time out the Reddies picked up two wins versus Lane College. The Reddies outscored the Dragons 15-1 on Friday February 7 including an 11-0 victory in just five innings.
SCOUTING SOUTHEASTERN
Southeastern has found continued success against the Reddies, winning three of the last four games between the two. The Savage Storm are 12-12 all-time at Dee White Field.
After starting the season 3-2 Southeastern sits at just 7-6 with losses against ranked UT-Tyler, Angelo State and Rogers State. HSU and SE have two common opponents, Northeastern and Northwest Missouri. HSU are both 2-1 against common opponents. Southeastern run-ruled Northeastern at home. Â Â
The Savage Storm are led by Jazzy Rios, currently batting .478 in 23 at bats. Rios also boasts a .538 OBP and a 1.234 OPS in 10 games. Following close behind Rios are Illiana Olivares and Sabetha Sands. Olivares leads the team in hits and at bats, batting .375 on 15 hits in 40 plate appearances. Sands is batting .359 and leads the team in total bases at 23.

The Savage Storm pitching holds a combined 4.61 team ERA. Trinity Oden and Emily Simmons leads the way for Southeastern and are a combined 6-4 this season. Oden posts a team low 2.46 ERA and .248 batting average against but has allowed a team high 17 extra-base hits.

Southeastern recorded three home runs in a game twice this season once against St. Mary's (TX) and once against Truman. Sage Harlow and India McMurray lead the team in home runs at two apiece.
