Henderson State to Host Arkansas Tech on Senior Night

WBB GAME NOTES VS. ARKANSAS TECH: FEBRUARY 27, 2025 (SENIOR NIGHT)

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. —  Henderson State's women's basketball team is set to celebrate its three senior members when the Reddies host Arkansas Tech for Senior Night on Thursday, Feb. 27. Tip-off against the Golden Suns is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

REDDIE NOTES
Henderson State looks to close out the home portion of its 2024-25 schedule on a high note as it takes on Arkansas Tech in a Senior Night showdown. The Reddies have won six straight home meetings with the Golden Suns.

On Thursday night, HSU will recognize its three graduating seniors: Bobbi Bazzle, Michaela Mayfield, and Makenna Winans.

Bobbi Bazzle enters the night with 477 career rebounds for Henderson, including 164 in 2024-25 - four away from her career high of 168 boards set last season. The 2024 GAC Elite Scholar Athlete is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game during the current campaign, putting her in a tie for sixth on the GAC leaderboard.

Michaela Mayfield reached double figures for the second time this season by scoring 13 points against Southern Nazarene. She is shooting seven-of-15 on three-point attempts in 2024-25.

Makenna Winans will start Thursday's contest with 385 rebounds across two campaigns with the Reddies. Her 7.3 boards per game are ranked fifth in the conference, and she is just nine rebounds away from recording 200 boards in a season for the first time in her HSU career.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH
The Golden Suns are on the hunt for their first win at the Duke Wells Center since Feb. 18, 2017 - an 82-73 defeat of the Reddies. Arkansas Tech is also aiming to earn its first road victory since a 75-70 win at SWOSU on Dec. 7.

Four different ATU players achieved double-digit scoring totals in the team's first meeting with HSU on Dec. 12. Julie Wagner and Hayleigh Wyrick were tied for the most points with 11 apiece.

Arkansas Tech collected 11 steals via five different players versus Henderson State earlier this season. Andie Zylak and Kamryn Sutterfield both had a hat trick with three each.

Julie Wagner had a team-best eight rebounds in the Golden Suns' last outing against East Central. The senior from Humbolt, Tennessee, is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game this year - good for fourth in the GAC.
