ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  —  Henderson State opened its 2025 spring season in a 5-2 loss to DBU at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center on Saturday.

Kristina Kozlova and Jenna Kate Bohnert provided the Reddies with their only doubles win of the day in a 6-2 result against the Patriots' Madalyn Smelley and Isabella Arana Rios. The duo also provided HSU with its two singles victories of the match. Kozlova bested Leonie Schondelmaier 6-1, 2-6, 6-2. Bohnert won her singles outing 6-0, 6-0 versus Smelley.

The Reddies will hit the road next week for their first road test of the spring at Hendrix College. The match against the Warriors will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 14. Henderson will then take on University of the Ozarks in Conway at 3 p.m. on that same date.
