Box Score BETHANY, Okla. – Henderson State (15-14, 5-11 GAC) left it all on the field in a hard-fought series finale against Southern Nazarene (19-13, 10-7 GAC), pushing the second game into extra innings before ultimately falling 5-4 in the ninth.
In a thrilling back-and-forth contest, Henderson State refused to go down without a fight, taking Southern Nazarene into extra innings in the series finale. After jumping out to an early 4-0 lead, the Reddies saw the Crimson Storm storm back with a four-run sixth to force extras.
Henderson's offense struck early, manufacturing runs in the first, third, and fourth innings.
Justine Burch continued her hot streak, reaching base with a double, while
Josie Copeland delivered a solo home run in the third.
Hilary Akers and
Addison Tidwell each delivered solo homeruns in the fourth inning extending the lead to four.
Jersey Cabana provided a strong effort in the circle pitching 5.1 innings with just one earned run, with
Makenna Keeton (3-4) taking over in relief and keeping the Reddies in it through the late frames. Despite a gritty defensive stand, Southern Nazarene capitalized in the ninth inning, walking off with a narrow victory.
In the first game of the doubleheader the Reddies offense struggled to find its groove, scoring just one run to the Crimson Storm's four. The Reddies single run came off a Copeland homerun in the top of the seventh inning. Just four Reddie batters recorded a hit, none recording more than one.

The Reddies return home to face in-state foe Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a midweek doubleheader on Tuesday in Pine Bluff, Ark. beginning at 12 p.m.
