ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Reddies began the 2025 GAC campaign versus the Savage Storm at home to begin highly anticipated GAC season.
Henderson State returns to conference play where a season ago they finished above .500 and defeated Ouachita Baptist in the first round of the conference tournament 4-2, before falling to ranked Southern Arkansas 4-2.
Southeastern (11-3, 2-0 GAC) was picked to finish third in the conference preseason poll, slightly behind Southern Arkansas and Harding. The duo of Juo Chen Chenn and Carol Mora rank 10
th nationally in doubles.
In the first conference meeting of the season the Reddies faced a veteran Savage Storm team led by five upperclassmen. The Reddies battled consistently through the match with two matches going to a tiebreak and two sets going to a 7-5 set score.

Kristina Kozlova and
Jenna Kate Bohnert battled #10 Chen Chenn and Mora before falling 6-4. Kozlova battled in singles match pushing Mora to 5-5 in the second set before dropping the final two games.
The freshman duo of Adiya Abydgappar and
Angela Dorado Marin each pushed their opponent to a third set. Abdugappar faced senior Larissa Giraldia Correa and won the first set 7-5 before falling in the second set 6-4 and falling in the tiebreak 14-12. Dorado Marin faced Amishi Shulka falling 6-2, 3-6, 6-7 (2).
The Reddies turn their heads to next week in match versus a red-hot Harding Bisons squad who were picked to finish second in the GAC preseason poll. The Tuesday match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
