ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Following a midweek series split the Reddies face a Golden Suns team that has swept back-to-back GAC series.
Game one of the series with ATU is set to begin on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the second game of the doubleheader immediately following. The final game of the series is set for Monday at 1 p.m.
REDDIE REPORT
Henderson State returns to Dee White Field following a decisive 8-3 win versus TAMUT in Texarkana on Tuesday.
Presley Applegate earned the win versus the Eagles with a dominant six inning outing, striking out four and allowing just two runs.
Hilary Akers continued her tear on the softball against TAMUT, batting 5-7 with 4 RBIs and a walk.

The Reddies are 4-2 in the last six nonconference contests and have consistently produced runs across those six games. Across the last six games the Reddies are averaging seven runs a game.

During conference play the Reddies have remained competitive with some of the top teams in the conference. HSU held the explosive Muleriders offense to just one run in the first game of the series and zero runs through the first five innings in the second game of the day.

Jersey Cabana has found her groove in recent weeks, posting a 2.26 ERA and a team best 7-2 record in 16 appearances. Cabana leads the team in complete games, ERA, WHIP and opponent batting average.

The top of the HSU lineup has seen the ball well in recent weeks against some of the best pitching in the conference. The top four Reddie hitters are all batting above .320 and Akers leads the team with a .378 batting average, good for top 20 in the conference.

Akers ranks top 10 in stolen bases, total bases, doubles, hits and RBIs.
Macy Hoskins has proved to be a dominant bat in the conference, ranking 11
th in total bases, 2
nd in doubles and 11
th in slugging.

The Reddies are 1-6 in their last seven meetings versus the Golden Suns in Arkadelphia.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH
Arkansas Tech sits in the top half of the conference standings with a strong 12-8 record in conference. The Golden Suns played a strong nonconference schedule, facing multiple ranked teams, including #1 UT-Tyler and defeating #13 Central Oklahoma, 5-2. Â

The Golden Suns are coming off back-to-back losses versus #11 Rogers State in the midweek on the road. Against Rogers State ATU was outscored 12-2 recorded just eight hits across two games. The leadoff hitter Sadie Turner went 4-6 with a homerun in both games.

In their last two conference series the Golden Suns swept East Central and Ouachita Baptist, outscoring the two teams 25-14. ATU is led by two pitchers who have combined to pitch 181.1 of the team's 257 innings. Alexis Findley and Aly White each post an ERA of 2.63 and have combined to go 14-10 with 16 complete games and an opponent batting average of .207.

Offensively, the Golden Suns have four players with a batting average of .300 or better. Kacie Gibbins leads the team in batting average, hits, doubles, total bases and slugging percentage. As a team ATU is batting .280 while opponents are batting .231 against them. Â
