ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The College Sports Communicators released their Academic All-District Softball teams Tuesday, and four Henderson State players were honored with recognition.

Meagan Allen,
Justine Burch, and
Brooke Johnson were named as Academic All-District team members.
Earlier this year, these four Reddies were named to the GAC Academic Honor Roll as distinguished scholar athletes by the Great American Conference.
Akers, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, earns her first Academic All-District honor. The nursing major appeared in all 56 games for the Reddies and led the team in OPS, runs, hits, doubles, home runs, and RBI while also stealing 10 bases.
Allen, a graduate student from Lepanto, Arkansas, was named to her second consecutive CSC All-District team nod. In the circle, she surrendered only 29 earned runs in 45.2 innings pitched and boasted a 1.000 fielding percentage.
Burch, a senior from Greenbrier, Arkansas, has been named to her first CSC All-District team; she is a back-to-back GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete award recipient in addition to an All-GAC Second Team nod for her performance on the field. Burch hit .368 for the Reddies in 60 games this season and was fifth in the league with 28 stolen bases.
Johnson earns her second Academic-All District award. The senior Health and Human Performance major from Rockwall, Texas appeared in 21 games in the circle and 53 games at bat for the Reddies, hitting two home runs with 21 RBI while striking out 57 batters in 74.1 innings pitched.
