EDMOND, Okla. – The Reddies continued their fall season at the ITA Regionals at the University of Central Oklahoma this weekend.
Emilia Nowak and
Jordan Parker secured a Flight A Consolation win as a doubles pairing.
The tournament featured a draw of 64 players. The tournament included women's open singles and women's open doubles.
"It was a good weekend with a lot of great tennis" said Coach Annebel Harvey, "We showed improvement from our last tournament and we're already excited for our spring season."
Women's Open Singles
There were some strong performances in the Singles flights, as
Emilia Nowak defeated the sixth seed of the tournament in her first round. Angela Dorado also secured a round of 32 berth, ultimately losing to Johanna Priedite from Missouri Western, who advanced to the semifinals. In Flight B,
Lily Winter had a strong showing in the Consolation bracket, earning two strong wins to advance to the quarterfinals, while
Adiya Abdugappar made it to the round of 16 in the main flight.
Women's Open Doubles
On the doubles side,
Emilia Nowak and
Jordan Parker secured the win in the Consolation Final of Flight A, defeating the duo from host Central Oklahoma, 6-4. The duo never went to extra points, securing each win handily.
Kristina Kozlova and
Jenna Kate Bohnert reached the quarterfinals in Flight A, defeating the hosts that lost to Nowak and Parker 9-7, and a duo from the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith, 8-5.
