Women's Basketball 2025-26 Game Notes
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Reddies return to the Duke Wells Center this week to host Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist. The home stand will begin with Southern Nazarene on Thursday, January 15th, with tip off at 5:30 PM.
Henderson State went 1-1 on their road trip last week, defeating Southwestern Oklahoma State 83-65, before losing to #15 ranked Northwestern Oklahoma State 47-68.
Natalie Cardenas leads the Reddie offense, as she ranks second in the GAC, averaging 19.5 points per game so far this season.
Brynlee Huggins ranks second on the team and nineth in the GAC in points per game (13.9).
Sam Basson is the primary distributor for the Reddies, averaging 2.7 assists per game.
Rebounds have been a struggle the last few weeks for the Reddies, as they've dropped to the sixth-best rebounding team in the GAC, averaging 30 rebounds per game.
Grayson Fairless leads the Reddies, averaging 11.8 rebounds per game, the only player in the GAC averaging ten-plus so far this season.
Henderson State protects the ball well, as they have committed only 148 turnovers so far on the season, the lowest in the GAC.
Scouting Southern Nazarene
The Crimson Storm went 0-2 in a home stand last week. They lost to #17 ranked Harding 57-65, and Arkansas Tech 55-63.
Southern Nazarene's offense is led by Jillian Crawford, who is averaging 8.9 points per game, while Boston Berry ranks second, averaging 8.0 points per game. The offense struggles, as they rank last in the GAC in field goal percentage (34.9), and second to last in points per game (59.1).
Rebounds are a weakness for this Crimson Storm team, as they have the fewest rebounds in the GAC, recording only 398, and averaging the lowest rebounds per game, with 33.2. The team does well with offensive rebounds, however, as they are averaging 11.3 offensive rebounds per game, good for seventh in the conference.
The Southern Nazarene defense is holding opponents to the third-lowest points average in the GAC (64.2). Hannah Duncan leads the Crimson Storm in blocks, recording 12 on the season, which ranks sixth in the GAC.
SNU struggles with turnovers, as they have committed 277 turnovers so far this season, with opponents averaging 17.2 points per game off of those turnovers forced.
The Reddies lost the last time they played the Crimson Storm at home, falling 65-76. When playing in the Duke Wells Center, HSU is 6-6 against SNU, and is 11-16 all time.
