2025-26 Women's Basketball Game Notes

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Henderson State Women's Basketball starts off 2026 hosting Arkansas-Monticello in the Duke Wells Center. Tip-off is scheduled at 1:00 PM.

(RV) Henderson State were defeated by Southern Arkansas in the last game of 2025, losing 64-61.

The Reddie offense is led by Natalie Cardenas, who is averaging 20.3 points per game, which ranks second in the GAC. Brynlee Huggins ranks second on the team and seventh in the GAC in points per game (14.2). The main distributor for the Reddie offense is Sam Basson, who is averaging a team-leading 3.1 assists per game, good for fifth in the GAC.

Henderson State is one of the stronger rebounding team in the GAC, as they are ranked fifth, averaging 38.8 rebounds per game, ranking fourth in offensive rebounds (12.1) and third in defensive rebounds (26.7). Grayson Fairless leads the way for the Reddies, averaging a GAC-leading 12.1 rebounds per game.

The Reddies take care of the ball well as they rank last in the GAC in turnovers, only committing 115 so far this season. Opponents are only averaging 14.1 points off of turnovers this season.

The Blossoms lost their last game of 2025, falling 67-57 to Arkansas Tech.

UAM's offense is led by Alindsey Long, who is averaging 13.8 points per game, shooting 41.5 percent from the field. Alyssa Batton ranks second on the team, averaging 12.9 points per game. The offense struggles in scoring this season, as they rank third to last in points per game in the GAC (61.5).

The Blossoms have recorded the fifth-most rebounds in the GAC (399), averaging 36.3 rebounds per game. Defensive Rebounds are where UAM is strongest, as they have the fifth-most defensive rebounds in the GAC with 288. Brilynn Findley leads the way for UAM, with 55 rebounds, averaging 5.0 rebounds per game, while Harper Biley averages a team-leading 5.9 rebounds per game.

UAM struggles to protect the ball, as they have recorded the third-most turnovers in the GAC (164), while only forcing 158 turnovers this season. Opponents are averaging 13.8 points off of turnovers so far this season.

The Reddies lost the last time they played the Blossoms at home, falling 70-53. When playing in the Duke Wells Center, since the 2011-12 season, HSU is 16-11 against UAM, and is 44-59 all-time.
