RUSSELVILLE, Ark. - Henderson State Women's Tennis was selected fourth in the Great American Conference Preseason Poll, the league announced Tuesday.
Harding was chosen to defend their 2024-25 title, with 22 points and two first place votes. Southern Arkansas sits just behind in second with 19 points, and also received two first place votes. Southeastern Oklahoma State received one first place votes and sits behind at 17 points. Filling out the rest of the poll is Henderson State with 13 points and a first place vote, then Arkansas Tech with 11 points, and Ouachita Baptist with 8 points.
The Reddies have six returning players from last season, including all three All-GAC Honorees. All-GAC First team honorees
Jenna Kate Bohnert and
Kristina Kozlova return to the Reddies this season. Kozlova was 10-7 at the Number 1 position in singles, while Bohnert was 12-5 playing at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions for Henderson. The tandem paired up to finish 14-6 overall in the No. 1 position in doubles.
All-GAC Second team honoree and GAC Freshman of the Year
Angela Dorado Marin returns after a strong freshman season in the 2025 season. Dorado Marin finished 13-3 at No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions, and 13-6 in the No. 2 position for doubles. She was one of only two freshmen in the league to earn All-GAC honors last season.
Adiya Abdugappar,
Lainey Mungle, and
Lily Winter also return for the Reddies this season.
The team is rounded out by two newcomers to the Reddies this season,
Jordan Parker and
Emilia Nowak. Nowak made her presence known early for the Reddies, as during the Fall season, securing the Flight 2 Doubles title at the UT-Tyler Invite with Bohnert, the Flight A Doubles consolation title with Parker at ITA Regionals, and the Flight 3 Singles title at the GAC Individual Championships.
The Reddies open their season with a home match against Christian Brothers on February 6th at 11:00 AM at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center.
