Reddies Host Tigers in Battle of the Ravine Match Up

2025-26 Women's Basketball Game Notes

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Reddies (12-8, 8-8) will end their home stand against the rival across the street, Ouachita Baptist (12-8, 9-7). This Battle of the Ravine is set to tip off at 5:30 P.M. on February 12th in the Duke Wells Center.

Henderson State defeated Southern Arkansas on Monday, besting the Muleriders 66-64.

This Reddie offense has struggled the last few weeks, but still ranks third in the GAC in points per game (71.5), while ranking eighth in shooting percentage (39.1), and fifth in shooting percentage from three (32.8). Natalie Cardenas is the lead scorer for Henderson State, ranking fourth in the GAC with a 18.5 points per game mark.

The Reddies bounced back in the rebound game on Monday, out-rebounding Southern Arkansas 50-39. The Reddies this season rank fifth in rebounds per game (37.7), with most coming from offensive rebounds, 12.3 per game, as Henderson ranks third in the GAC. Grayson Fairless leads the GAC in rebounds per game (10.5), and remains the only player averaging 10-plus rebounds a game.

Henderson State's defense is allowing 69.9 points per game for opponents, ranking second in the conference, and opponents are averaging a shooting percentage of 41.9, the highest in the league.

The Tigers faced #11 Ranked Harding on Monday, falling to the Bisons 94-77.

Ouachita's offense is one of the best in the conference, as it ranks second in points per game (71.5), fourth in shooting percentage from the field (41.4) and leads the GAC in shooting percentage from three (34.4). Madeleine Tipton is the leader for the Tigers, averaging 16.2 points per game, which ranks sixth in the GAC.

The defense for the Tigers is not as efficient, as they're giving up the third-most points per game in the conference (69.1). Where it does excel is defending the three, as OBU is holding teams to the lowest shooting percentage from three in the conference (28.0).

Ouachita has been out-rebounded the last two games they played, and rank teid for seventh in the GAC in rebounds per game (36.7) Audri Winfrey leads the team, averaging 5.3 rebounds per game.

OBU struggles to force turnovers, as they rank third to last in the conference in turnovers, forcing 281. They struggle to generate steals as well, ranking second to last in steals (116) and steals per game (5.8).

The Reddies lost to Ouachita the last time they met, falling 89-56 across the street. When playing in the Duke Wells Center, since 2011-12, HSU is 11-4 against OBU, and is 51-44 all time.
