Women's Basketball Game Notes

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Henderson State (14-8, 10-8) hits the road this week, traveling first to Shawnee, Oklahoma to face Oklahoma Baptist (11-13, 7-11) for the second time this season. Tip off is scheduled for February 19th at 5:30 P.M in the Noble Complex.

Reddie Report
Henderson State went 3-0 this last week, defeating Southern Arkansas 66-64 and Ouachita Baptist 66-58, before going on the road to defeat Arkansas-Monticello 79-76.

This Reddie offense has capitalized on this resurgence, averaging over 70 points per game over the last week. This has allowed Henderson State to rank third in the GAC in points per game (71.6). Natalie Cardenas continues to lead the Reddies individually, ranking fourth in the GAC in points per game (19.0). 

The Reddies this season rank fifth in rebounds per game (37.4), with most coming from defensive rebounds, 25.5 per game. Grayson Fairless leads the GAC in rebounds per game (10.1), and remains the only player averaging 10-plus rebounds a game in the conference.

Henderson State continues to protect the ball well, as they have given up the fewest turnovers in the GAC (262). The Reddies have forced 305 turnovers, averaging 14.6 points off of those turnovers.

Scouting Oklahoma Baptist
The Bison lost to Southwestern Oklahoma State on Monday, falling 56-51.

Oklahoma Baptist's offense has been up and down this season, scoring 70-plus in two of its previous matchups, then have posted only 56 and 51 points their last two games. The Bison are shooting 40.2 percent from the field, with Jaedyn Getman leading the way. Getman is averaging 19.9 points per game, which leads the GAC.

Defensively, the Bison are limiting oppenents to 66.7 points per game, and opponents are shooting 39.2 percent from the field. Oklahoma Baptist is stronger from three defensively, as they're limiting opponents to a 29.9 shooting percentage from three.

Oklahoma Baptist rebounds fairly well, as they hold the fifth-most rebounds in the GAC (866), averaging 36.1 rebounds per game. Most come from defensive rebounds, as they have collected the third-most in the GAC (625), averaging 26.0 defensive rebounds per game. Jaedyn Getman leads the Bison, averaging 8.7 rebounds per game.

The Reddies beat the Bison the last time they met, winning 78-61 in the Duke Wells Center. When playing in the Noble Complex, since 2011-12, HSU is 5-4 against OkBU, and is 13-6 all time.
