RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Henderson State's
Angela Dorado Marin earned her first GAC Player of the Week nod of the 2026 spring season, the league announced Wednesday.
Marin went 2-0 at the No. 4 singles and 2-0 at the No. 3 doubles with partner
Kristina Kozlova during a two match home stand against GAC opponents Arkansas Tech and Southern Arkansas, going 2-0, and keeping the Reddies undefeated in conference play.
The sophomore from Grenada, Spain started off her week with a 2-0 day against Arkansas Tech. After besting the Golden Sun's No. 3 pairing 6-1, Marin defeated Rebecca Arnold 7-5, 6-2 to aid in the 4-3 victory for the Reddies.
Marin continued her strong week, as she aided Henderson State in sweeping Southern Arkansas 7-0 to advance to 3-0 on the season. Marin defeated the No. 4 position Emilie Senepart, leading 3-0 before her opponent retired.
The Reddies (9-8) and Marin faced Southeastern Oklahoma State in a match to stay perfect yesterday April 14th, with Henderson State falling in a tightly fought 4-3 match.
Henderson State will continue their season with the Battle of the Ravine, hosting Ouachita Baptist on April 24th at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 P.M.
