Henderson State committed 25 turnovers which led to 34 points for Harding as the sixth-ranked Lady Bisons beat the Lady Reddies 91-74, Thursday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Harding, 22-1 overall and 14-1 in the GAC, got a stellar performance from Arielle Saunders who scored 19 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had 7 assists.
Harding took advantage of 12 Henderson State turnovers in the opening half to build a 38-32 lead at the break.
Aungelique Sledge and
Krystal Beachum kept the Lady Reddies close as the two combined for 25 of Henderson's 32 points in the half with Sledge scoring 13 points while Beachum totaled 12.
In a foul-plagued half, Henderson's
Dulincia Keener and Harding's Kristen Celsor played less than seven minutes due to being called for two early infractions.
The second half belonged to Harding as the Lady Bisons opened on a 23-3 run as Henderson continued to have turnover troubles.
Henderson State, 12-9 overall and 7-8 in the GAC, was led by Beachum who ended the game with 22 points.
Jasmine Settles had a career-high 20 points including making four 3-point field goals.
Aungelique Sledge also scored in double-figures for the 21
st straight game finishing with 18 points along with 6 rebounds.
The Lady Reddies ended the night shooting 44 percent from the field converting on 24-of-54 attempts, while the Lady Bisons were 35-of-73 for 48 percent shooting.
Henderson State will next travel to Russellville to take on Arkansas Tech with tipoff Saturday set for 2 p.m. at Tucker Coliseum.
