LADY REDDIES LOOKS TO END LOSING SKID

Henderson State will attempt to end a four-game losing skid as the Lady Reddies take on Arkansas Tech, Saturday in Russellville with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
 
The Golden Suns enter the game with a 12-8 record overall and an 8-6 mark in the Great American Conference after a 71-55 win over Ouachita Baptist on Thursday.
 
Henderson State has dropped its last four games and are 12-9 overall and 7-8 in the GAC.
 
Aungelique Sledge scored 18 points on Thursday against Harding and remains atop the GAC in scoring, averaging 21.0 points per game. The junior from West Helena, Ark. leads HSU in 3-point field goals with 68 and needs just three more to set the HSU single-season record.
 
Jasmine Settles had a career-high 20 points on Thursday against Harding and is averaging 7.7 point per game.
 
Krystal Beachum is averaging 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Beachum is second on the team in assists with 52.
 
Arkansas Tech enters Saturday's game having won four straight including three games at home. The Golden Suns are outscoring their opponents by 11.9 points per contest and average 74.8 points per game.
 
Cara Neighbors leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.2 points per contest. Neighbors scored 14 points in the first game against Henderson.        

Anissa Pounds follows averaging 13.0 points while leading the team in 3-point field goals made with 45.
 
Jacinda Myers-Sanders averages 11.8 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Last time against Arkansas Tech, Henderson State beat the Golden Suns 83-56 behind Sledge's game-high 35 points.

The win was Henderson's first over Arkansas Tech since the Lady Reddies beat the Golden Suns 57-52 on Feb. 20, 2006. The Lady Reddies had lost 14 straight games to ATU prior to the victory.       

Sledge set a Henderson State record sinking eight 3-point field goals.

Settles scored 14 points for the Lady Reddies while Dulincia Keener toatled 12.Krystal Beachum also had a solid game with 8 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.        

Henderson State finished the game shooting 42 percent, converting on 25-of-60 attempts. Arkansas Tech made just 22-of-67 attempts for 33 percent.         

The Lady Reddies outrebounded the Golden Suns 46 to 38, but another big key to the win was free throw shooting. Henderson State converted on 22-of-24 attempts from the charity stripe for 92 percent.
