Henderson State took a Great American Conference softball double-header from Southern Nazarene, 2-1 and 3-0, Saturday at Dee White Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Lady Reddies, 21-14 overall and 17-7 in the GAC, extended their home winning streak to 13 games.
In the opener, SNU scored its lone run of the day in the first-inning when Hannah Lebeau singled home Kylie Lang who led off the game with a walk.
Henderson State was limited to one hit through the first four innings, but the Lady Reddies struck for a pair of runs on two hits in the fifth frame.
Amy Halter reached base to lead off the inning when she was hit by a pitch. Halter advanced to second on fielder's choice/sacrifice bunt by
Alicia Zack as Halter beat the play at second.
Kayla Williams then drove in Halter on an infield single while
Amber Klug driving in the eventual game-winning run on a single to put HSU on top 2-1.
Ashlyn White entered the game to pitch for HSU in the sixth-inning and retired the final six batters in order, striking out a pair of SNU hitters to pick up her fourth save of the year.
Williams pitched the first five innings, allowing four hits and striking out two batters to improve to 6-7 on the year.
In the second game, Henderson State scored all three of its runs in the fourth-inning.
Morgan South hit her fourth home run of the season to put the Lady Reddies on top 1-0.
With two-outs, Halter walked followed by three straight singles by Zack,
Tricia Hock and Williams with Hock and Williams driving in runs.
Cagen Medlock recorded her seventh straight win in the circle to improve to 8-3 on the season. Medlock gave up four hits, struck out four batters and faced five batters over the minimum in the complete game victory.
The two teams will finish the four-game series with a double-header Sunday at Dee White Field with the first-pitch set for Noon.
