Box Score 2 Henderson State split a Sunday double-header with Southern Nazarene dropping game one 3-1, before winning the finale 11-2 to take three of four games in the series.
The Lady Reddies, 22-15 overall and 18-8 in the Great American Conference, scored eight runs in the first-inning of the final game.
After
Kayla Williams reached on an error and
Amber Klug received a walk, the Lady Reddies belted out seven straight hits with
Sarah Gipson starting things with a RBI double to left field.
Morgan South added a run-scoring single that plated Klug and
Ashlyn White followed with a two-run single to make the score 4-0.
Jaylyn Baldridge,
Amy Halter and
Alicia Zack had the next three singles, with
Tricia Hock having a two-run double to give HSU an 8-0 lead after one inning.
HSU increased its lead to 9-0 in the second-inning as South singled and later scored on a base-hit by Baldridge.
Baldridge extended Henderson's lead to 11-1 in the fourth-inning with a two-run homer which drove in White who tripled one batter earlier.
Cagen Medlock recorded her eighth straight victory in the pitching circle as the senior from Whitehouse, Texas pitched a complete-game to improve to 9-3 on the year.
In the opener SNU scored three runs on two hits to beat the Lady Reddies 3-1.
Henderson State had six hits in the game but left eight runners on base.
Baldridge had two hits in the game while Gipson had a double.
Henderson State collected 17 hits in the twin bill with Baldridge going 5-for-6 with a home run and four runs batted in.
Henderson State will next be in action on April 8 when the Lady Reddies travel across Highway 7 to face Ouachita Baptist.
