Lady Reddies Split Series Opener With Harding

Henderson State split a softball double-header with Harding winning game one 9-1, before losing the second game 9-5, on Senior Day, Saturday at Dee White Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.

In game one, the Lady Reddies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first-inning as Amber Klug hit her 10th double of the season and scored on a single by Morgan South.

Jaylin Baldridge led off the second-inning with a solo home run to make the score 2-0.

With one-out, Alicia Zack singled followed by Tricia Hock hitting a deep fly ball that went off the center fielder's glove and over the fence for two more runs and make the score 4-0.

Henderson State batted around in the sixth-inning and scored five runs to run-rule the Lady Bisons.

Ashlyn White and Amy Halter singled in the inning with Kayla Williams having her second double of the game to drive in two runs.

Cagen Medlock went the distance in the circle to improve to 11-3 on the year. Medlock allowed just one run on two hits and struck out five batters.

In game two, Harding scored six runs in the seventh-inning including a grand slam by Courtney Derrick to rally for the win.
South went 2-for-4 in the game with a RBI, while Zack was 2-for-3.

Henderson State, 24-17 overall and 20-10 in the GAC, is currently in third-place and is one and a half games behind league-leading Northwestern Oklahoma with 10 games remaining.

The two teams will finish the four-game series Sunday, with a double-header beginning at 11 a.m. at Dee White Field.
