Henderson State will travel to Russellville, Ark. to take on Arkansas Tech in a four-game Great American Conference softball series beginning with a double-header Friday at 2 p.m. at Chartwells Sports Complex.
The Lady Reddies, 26-17 overall and 22-10 in the GAC, are currently third in the conference standings and have won 11 of their last 14 games.
Henderson State is just percentage points behind league-leading Southeastern Oklahoma (22-9). The Lady Reddies finish the regular-season next weekend against the Savage Storm.
Henderson State sports a stout .314 team batting average and is scoring 5.3 runs per contest.
Amber Klug continues to lead the Lady Reddie offense with a .395 average including a team-best 11 doubles.
Ashlyn White has also been solid at the plate with a .385 average and five home runs, while
Tricia Hock hits .344 with a .434 on base percentage.
Cagen Medlock has been Henderson's top pitcher, posting a 13-4 record and a 3.36 ERA. Medlock won four games last week and has struck out 67 batters in 100 innings of work.
Arkansas Tech, 22-24 overall and 12-20 GAC, has a .267 team average and are led by Ashley Keen who is hitting .377 with 9 home runs.
The Golden Suns are currently eighth in the conference standings after coming off a 2-2 series split with Ouachita Baptist last weekend. Tech leads the league in fewest runs allowed (170) this season.
The two teams will finish the series with a double-header on Saturday beginning at Noon.
