Box Score 2 Henderson State clubbed out 11 hits and scored seven runs in the seventh-inning to beat Arkansas Tech in Great American Conference softball Saturday in Russellville, Ark.
Arkansas Tech, 25-25 overall and 15-21 in the GAC, shutout the Lady Reddies in the second game of the double-header winning 3-0 to claim the series.
In game one,
Sarah Gipson gave HSU a 1-0 lead in the first-inning with a run-scoring double that scored
Amber Klug who reached on a walk.
Arkansas Tech scored a run in the second and two in the third to take a 3-1 with the help of a solo home run by Siarra Gomez.
After the Lady Reddies scored an unearned run in the fourth-inning to cut the deficit to 3-2, Henderson State erupted for five runs in the fifth-inning with the big hit being a three-run home run by
Ashlyn White to make the score 7-3.
Henderson State, 27-20 overall and 23-13 in the GAC, followed with seven runs on four hits to make the score 14-3.
Tricia Hock supplied a two-run double, while
Jaylin Baldridge plated two runs with a single to right field.
Alicia Zack and White also had run-scoring singles in the frame.
White pitched the final four innings of the game and struck out three batters to record the win and improve to 6-3 on the year.
In the finale, Jalissa Gum, Shanna Davidson, and Chelsea Reeves all homered to give ATU a 3-0 victory.
Sydnee Clark shut out the Lady Reddies in the circle, surrendering three hits while striking out two batters to improve to 14-9 on the year.

Cagen Medlock was tabbed with the loss and fell to 13-6 on the year.
Henderson State will next travel to Durant, Okla. to complete its regular-season schedule for a four game series against Southeastern Oklahoma with a double-header beginning Friday.
