Medlock Pitches Lady Reddies to Shutout Win Over OBU

Cagen Medlock picked up her fifth-straight win as Henderson State shutout Ouachita Baptist 4-0 in the first game of a
Great American Conference double-header Tuesday in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Ouachita Baptist held off a late HSU rally to win the second game 4-2.

Medlock, 10-3 on the season, recorded her third shutout of the season striking out four batters and scattering six hits.

HSU, 23-16 overall and 19-9 in the GAC, took a 1-0 lead in the first-inning on a solo home run by Amber Klug.

The Lady Reddies plated three more insurance runs in the sixth-inning with the help of singles by Alicia Zack, Tricia Hock, Morgan South and Klug.

Henderson State did the same in game two, taking a 1-0 lead as Klug belted an RBI double to score Hock who singled to lead off the game.

The Lady Reddies made the score 2-0 in the second after Ashlyn White doubled and scored on a single by Amy Halter.

OBU scored a run in the third-inning and added three more runs in the sixth to take a 4-2 lead.

HSU loaded the bases with no outs in the seventh, but Lady Tiger pitcher Abbi Frakes was able to get out of the jam and preserve the win for OBU.

The Lady Reddies will next play host to Harding in a four-game GAC series beginning with a double-header on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dee White Field.
