Henderson State opened its 2014-15 tennis season with an 8-1 loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith, Thursday at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
UAFS took a 3-0 lead winning all three doubles matches.
 
Henderson's 
Annie Shannon and 
Amanda Korinihona pushed Abby White and Brittany McCassin to the limit at No. 1 doubles, but UAFS duo broke serve to win 8-6.
 
Korinihona had the lone win for the Reddies at No. 3 singles, defeating Abby Thompson 2-6, 6-4, and 10-7.
 
Henderson State will next take part in the Arkansas Tech Invitational Oct. 3 and 4 in Russellville.
