After winning five of its six games in the Ronnie Hawkins Invitational last weekend, the Henderson State softball team returns to action on Friday at the 8-State's Classic in Bentonville, Ark.
The Reddies (5-3) will play six games in the classic, beginning with a double-header Friday against Missouri Southern State and Central Missouri at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
HSU totaled 32 runs on 35 hits in its last two wins, defeating Lincoln 18-2 and Missouri Southern State 14-2 on Sunday at Dee White Field.
Amy Halter and
Tricia Hock each went 5-for-7 in the double-header with Halter scoring six runs, while Hock scored four runs to go along with a double.
Sarah Gipson also had five hits in eight at-bats. Gipson scored six runs, had two doubles and 5 RBI.
Ashlyn White and
Morgan South both went 4-for-5 with White having a home run while driving home five runs. South scored four runs, smacked a home run of her own while also totaling 7 RBI.
White received the Great American Conference Player of the Week honors last week after posting a .588 batting average going 10-for-17 with 11 runs batted in. She also had two home runs and held a .914 slugging percentage.

Michelle Sorensen has had an impressive season, and recorded a complete game shutout against Missouri Southern. Sorensen surrendered just two hits while striking out seven batters to improve to 3-2 on the year.
The freshman from Sherwood, Ark. was named GAC Pitcher of the Week for her efforts and was 3-0 in the circle last weekend, compiling a 1.24 earned run average.
The Reddies will take on Upper Iowa and Lindenwood on Saturday, with game times set for 3 and 5 p.m., respectively.
Following Saturday's games, HSU will wrap up the classic on Sunday, taking on Minnesota State-Mankato at 9 a.m. followed by a matchup with Emporia State at 11 a.m.
