Henderson State put up another solid performance, but the Reddie tennis team fell short as Delta State claimed a 6-3 win, Saturday in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Henderson State, 3-3 on the season, got off to a great start winning two of three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead entering singles play.

At No.1 doubles,
Annie Shannon and
Amanda Korinihona made quick work of Charlotte LeFlohic and Sophia LuisaNiemeyer recording an 8-0 victory.

Sara Griffin and
Hannah Watson outlasted Alex Howe and Katharina Assmann at No.2 doubles posting a  9-7 win.

It was another exciting finish at No. 3 doubles, but Delta State's Sara Alvarez-Rubio and Sandra Tora-Martinez edged Henderson's Kristen Pierce and
Maddie McJunkins 9-7.
In singles play,
Annie Shannon picked up an impressive win over Delta State's Charlotte LeFlohic at No. 1 singles, 6-3 and 7-6 (7-5) to put Henderson on top 3-1.

Delta State, however, went on to win the remaining five matches.

The Reddies challenged the Statesmen in every match with
Hannah Watson putting forth a valiant effort at No. 5 singles.

Watson and Alverez each claimed a set with Watson winning the first set 6-3, while Alverez took the second set 6-0. Alverez went on to win the tie-breaker 10-6.

Henderson State will next take on Arkansas Tech on Feb. 27 in Russellville.
