Box Score 2 Henderson State extended its winning streak to eight games as the Reddie softball team swept a Great American Conference double-header from East Central, Friday in Ada, Okla.
Henderson State, 11-3 overall and 2-0 in GAC play, took the first game 5-4 before winning the night cap 5-2.
In the opener, Henderson State rallied from a 4-0 deficit including scoring three runs in the sixth-inning.
Trailing 4-0 after three innings, the Reddies scratched for a run in the top of the fourth as
Tricia Hock led off the inning with double to right centerfield.
After moving to third on an
Amy Halter sacrifice bunt, Hock scored on a
Sarah Gipson sacrifice fly to left field.
In the Henderson fifth, the Reddies struck with two outs as
Caroline Cullins singled to right field followed by a double by
Alicia Zack to score Cullins.

Henderson would then erupt for three runs in the sixth-inning as Halter and Gipson both were hit by pitches to begin the inning followed by
Ashlyn White reaching on a base on balls.

Shayla Wright and
Courtney Warren then entered the game to pinch run for Gipson and White.
Taylor Daniels brought home the first run of the inning when she reached on an infield single to score Halter to make the score 4-3.

It looked as if ECU would get out of the inning when
Morgan South lined into double play, however, Seahorn came through in the clutch with a double to left-centerfield to drive in two runs and put the Reddies on top 5-4.

Henderson pitcher
Michelle Sorensen got out of a jam in the sixth and then stuck out the side in the seventh to earn the win.

The freshman from Sherwood, Ark. pitched a complete game, striking out seven batters to record her sixth straight win and improve to 6-2 on the season.

After falling behind 2-0 in game two, the Reddies again put together a big inning scoring five runs in the second.
Both Daniels and South were beneficiaries of errors by the Tigers to begin the frame.
Seahorn then plated the first run when she reached on an infield single which allowed Daniels to score.
Following a sacrifice bunt by Cullins to advance runners to second and third, Zack reached on a fielder's choice which allowed two runners to score and put Henderson on top 3-2.
Tricia Hock then delivered a two-run homer to left field to extend the Reddie lead.
White went the distance in the circle for the Reddies, allowing just two hits to improve to 4-1 on the season.
Zack finished the day going 4-for-6 at the plate with three runs batted in, while Hock was 3-for-6 with a double, home run and a pair of RBI.
Seahorn also had a big day for the Reddies having three hits including a double and 3 RBI.
The two teams will finish their four-game series with a double-header Saturday with the start time being moved up to Noon.
