Box Score 2 The Henderson State softball team opened day two of the Ronnie Hawkins Invitational with a 9-4 win over Christian Brothers, but lost the second game to Missouri Western 2-0, Saturday at Dee White Field.
In the opener, Christian Brothers forced the Reddies to play catchup scoring three runs in the first-inning.
Henderson State, 3-3 on the season, plated a run in the second on a sacrifice fly by

Taylor Daniels who singled to lead off the inning.
The Reddies then struck for three runs in the third as
Tricia Hock led off the inning with a solo home run.
Following a double by
Sarah Gipson,
Ashlyn White hit a two-run blast to centerfield to put Henderson on top 4-3.
In the following inning, Henderson added three more runs with Hock and Gibson having RBI singles in the frame.
Morgan South made the score8-3 in the fifth-inning with a solo home run, while White drove home a run in the sixth for the final Henderson run.
Michelle Sorensen pitched 5 innings of relief for the Reddies to pick up the win. Sorensen allowed just one hit and struck out six batters.
In game two Henderson managed six hits but stranded eight runners while Missouri Western used a pair of solo home runs to beat the Reddies 2-0.
Hock led the Reddies in the two games going 4-for-8 with a pair of RBI, while White was 3-for-6 also with two RBI.
Daniels had a solid day at the plate as well, going 3-for-5 with
Caroline Cullins, Gipson and South each having two hits on the afternoon.
Henderson State returns to action on Sunday against Lincoln with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. at Dee White Field. The Reddies will then take on Missouri Southern at 3 p.m.
