Henderson State Athletics will pay tribute to the Armed Forces as it hosts Military Appreciation Day for Saturday's game with Arkansas-Monticello with kickoff set for 2 p.m. at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium/Ruggles Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.

All active and retired military personnel and their immediate family members will be admitted to the game free of charge.

At halftime, members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps from across the state of Arkansas will march across the field in honor of the brave men and women who have served this great nation as a member of the United States Military.

In honor of Military Appreciation Day, Lieutenant Colonel Bruce Stacy will conduct the ceremonial coin toss prior to kickoff.

Lieutenant Colonel Bruce Stacy is an HSU ROTC graduate from Malvern, Arkansas earning a BA in sociology and history.
LTC (R) Stacy served over twenty years in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His assignments include two combat infantry tours in Vietnam, two mechanized infantry tours at Fort Hood, Texas, and two tours as a paratroop officer and jump master at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.Â

He commanded two rifle companies and was operations officer (S-3) for three battalions and two brigades. After two years as executive officer of the largest NATO combat brigade in Germany, his final assignment was as Chairman and Professor of Military Science at TCU.

A Veteran's memorial and ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on the west side of the Duke Wells Center. The public is invited to attend.Â

The Reddie coaching staff will also honor those who serve and have served our country by wearing military camouflage hats during the game.

A limited supply of these camouflage hats will be on sale for $20 at the game from the Reddie Bookstore with a portion of the proceeds going to the Henderson ROTC program.
