HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Henderson State defeated Winona State in medal match play at the Battle for the Belt on Monday to advance to the finals of the six-team tournament tomorrow.
The Reddies, who received a bye in round one, got wins from Christian Woods and Jackson Cole to outlast the Warriors 3-2 and will take on St. Edward's, who defeated Missouri Southern 4-1 in the other semifinal, on Tuesday. Cole shot even-par 72 while Woods turned in a 79 to capture victories in their head-to-head matchups.
Individually, Kasoma Paulino played terrific for 36 holes and shot rounds of even-par 71 and 1-under 71 to sit in second place overall.Â
The final round of medal match play begins tomorrow morning at 8:30 am. at Hot Springs Country Club.
