MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. — Henderson State shot rounds of 292 and 287 on Monday to secure fifth place after 36 holes at the Missouri Southern Men's Fall Invitational.
Christian Woods led the Reddies on day one. The senior from Summerville, South Carolina shot a 2-over 74 in the first round but responded with a career-best 4-under 68 in the second to finish Monday in a tie for 10th place individually at 2-under par.
Nick Shapiro ended the day tied for 19th after posting rounds of 74 and 2-under 70. Stuart Krog turned in scores of 1-under 71 and 4-over 75 to tie for 29th, while Francisco Maciel carded a 73 and 74 to settle into 35th. True freshman Nathan Cossement from Wavre, Belgium shot 75 and 76 to tie for 62nd going into Tuesday's final round.
Oklahoma Christian leads the 19-team event after 36 holes with a two-round team score of 564. Two players from Washburn and Southwestern Oklahoma State were forced to postpone their final holes of the second round due to darkness and will finish tomorrow morning, officially ending the round.
The Reddies will tee off tomorrow morning in the final round at the Shangri-La Country Club.
