FINAL LEADERBOARD
OWENSBORO, Ky. —
Nick Shapiro had a career round on Tuesday to lead Henderson State to a ninth place finish at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Invitational.
Shapiro, a senior from Plano, Texas, carded an 8-under 64 in the final round of play to skyrocket up the leaderboard and finish in a tie for ninth place as an individual. His 64 is the fourth round in the 60s of his career at Henderson, tied for the lowest round of any player in the field on either day of competition, and tied the school-record for a par-72 course.
Stuart Krog also had a good day for the Reddies and bounced back from a 74 on Monday to shoot 5-under 67 in the final 18 holes and tie for 20th overall. Krog has finished under par in two of Henderson's three events so far this season.
Christian Woods tied for 52nd and shot 77 on Tuesday, while
Mitchell Ford wound up in a tie for 59th after shooting a 79 on the final day.
Francisco Maciel rounded out the five for the Reddies with a 76 over his last 18 holes which tied him for 81st overall.
Henderson shot 284 as a team on Tuesday — four strokes better than Monday's opening round — to turn in a 36-hole team score of 572. Central Missouri won the 19-team event with a score of 552 for two days.
The Reddies return to action on Oct. 14-15 when they compete at the 2020 National Preview in St. Albans, Missouri.
