NORMAN, Okla. — Henderson State senior golfer Mitchell Ford received recognition for his stellar season on the links Friday afternoon when he was named to the 2021 NCAA Division II PING All-Central Region Team.
Ford, who was the highest ranked player in the GAC for the entirety of the spring season, was a unanimous First Team All-GAC selection after recording five Top-10 finishes in nine events. Ford carried a team-low stroke average of 72.40 and was the winner of the St. Mary's Rattler Invitational on Feb. 22-23 when he shot 9-under par for three rounds.
A five-year standout for Henderson, Ford is the sixth men's golfer in Reddie history to earn PING All-Region honors, joining Cameron McRae (2019), Price Murphree (2017), Mauricio Lira (2015), Brice Howard (2014) and Matt Jennings (2014). He was one of seven golfers from the GAC to be selected to the All-Central Region Team.
