NOBLESVILLE, Indiana - The Henderson State men's golf team finished off its ninth consecutive trip to the Central/Midwest Regional finishing 11th out of 20 teams after posting a three-round score of 40-over 904.
After weather plagued the first two rounds, the Reddies came into the day more than 10 strokes out of sixth place and a berth to the NCAA National Championships. They cut that deficit to eight strokes, seeing a 10-over 298 on the final day, which was tied for the second best day of any team in the field.
Josh McNulty saw the best final round of any HSU golfer with an even-par 72, including a 1-under 35 on the back nine, to finish in a tie for 21st at 7-over 223. McNulty's four birdies matched the high on the team as
Miller Harris also saw four birdies.
Mitchell Ford (10-over 226) and
Nick Shapiro (12-over 228), in their final collegiate rounds of golf, finished tied for 38th and 51st, respectively, in the 108-player field. Shapiro finished just behind McNulty for the title of best final round, carding a 1-over 73 while Ford saw a 5-over 77.
Alex Hadden and
Miller Harris rounded out the Reddie five-bag for the week with a 15-over 231 and 17-over 233 to finish tied for 66th and 72nd, respectively.
Henderson St. finished its 2021-22 season with three tournament wins, including winning its program record sixth GAC Championship. Â
