MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Henderson State cross country team opened the 2023 season at the Lois Davis Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas, where they finished third out of seven teams.

Heidy Galvan opened the year where she finished off 2022 - pacing the Reddies as she finished the two-mile race with a time of 13:46.35 for ninth place out of 54 runners.

Junior transfer Natalie Jennings from National Park placed 17th with a 14:19.16 time while true freshman Jasmine Giddens finished her collegiate debut race in 28th (15:37.31).

Kristina Kozlova (16:19.12), Lily Winter (17:14.91), Marianna Murcia (17:49.68) and Kamie Richardson (19.36.03) finished off the Reddie runners for the 2023 opener as the quartet placed 34th, 46th, 49th and 53rd, respectively.

Henderson State will head to Searcy, Arkansas, to run in the Steve Guymon Invitational hosted by Harding next Friday, Sept. 15 at 5:50 p.m.
