WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – No. 16 Henderson State's historic season comes to end in the final round of stroke play at the 2024 DII National Championship. The Reddies finished 12
th with a three-round score of 11-over 863, following a third-round score of 7-over 291.
Miller Harris earned All-Tournament Team honors with a tied for 6
th place finish individually with a 54-hole score of 5-under 208. Harris joins teammate
Ethan Wilkins as the second player for the HSU program to receive this award after Wilkins finished inside the Top 10 individually in last year's competition.
Harris concluded the last day even-Par 71 and ended the tournament with Par or better rounds across all three days. The senior from Carthage, Texas lead the team with a team-high 15 birdies, which is also tied for the third most across the 105-player field.
Jacob Knowlton turned in the second-best score of the tournament for the Reddies, carding a 3-over 216 and tied for 37
th. Knowlton shot 3-over 74 on the final day and was flawless on the back nine, going bogey-free with a birdie on Hole 17. The Cabot, Ark. native recorded ten birdies across the tournament after seeing two in round three.
Alex Hadden followed Knowlton with a final score of 7-over 220 after turning in a 4-over 75 on the final day. The Second-Team All-GAC recipient had the lone eagle on the day for HSU and the team's second for the event. Hadden ended the tournament tied for 65
th.
Ethan Wilkins tied for 83rd at the three-day event with a score of 10-over 223. The Sussex, Wis. native carded a 1-over 72 in the third round, going 1-under on the back nine with four birdies after shooting +2 on the front half. Wilkins compiled eight birdies across the three rounds, including a high of five today.
In the third round,
Ratio Visuttipinate turned in a 3-over 74 to finish the tournament 12-over 225 and tied 91
st. Visuttipiante went bogey-free thorugh his first six holes of the day with a pair of birdies and would finish the front nine 1-under before shooting +4 on the back nine. The Rayong, Thailand native tallied six birdies for the event and had one of the team's two eagles.
No. 16 Henderson State ends the 2023-24 season as GAC Champions for the third consecutive year, runners-up at the Central/Midwest Regional Tournament and 12
th at the program's first appearance at the National Championships. During the regular season, the Reddies won two events and saw seven Top 5 placements while setting a handful of new team and individual records.
