MUSKOGEE, Okla. - In a tight third-round battle with GAC rival Harding, Henderson State shot five-under 279 to hold on for its first tournament victory of the season at the 2024 NSU Men's Golf Classic.
The Reddies went 18-under 834 overall at Muskogee Country Club, putting them one stroke above the Bisons in the final standings. Southern Arkansas took third place with a score of one-under 851. Northeastern State's Will Livermore and Arkansas-Fort Smith's Jeremy Tandoy tied for the best solo score at nine-under 204.
As an individual, Jacob Knowlton claimed third place and All-Tournament honors with a total score of eight-under 205. Ethan Wilkins (five-under 208) and Maxime Lam (four-under 209) cracked the top 10 by claiming shares of sixth and seventh place, respectively. Every member of HSU's squad finished the event below the five-over threshold.
Next week, the Reddies are off to West Point, Mississippi, for the Statesmen Classic hosted by Delta State. The tournament tees off Monday, September 23.
