NORMAN, Okla. - Reddie Men's Golf moved up to No. 15 in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll released on Friday. Henderson State received 134 total votes after winning the NSU Men's Golf Classic in Muskogee, Oklahoma, earlier in the week.
HSU was the only GAC team to appear amongst the poll's top 25 teams. Harding, who was voted as the conference favorite in the preseason, received 33 votes following a second-place finish in Muskogee. Southern Arkansas, who took third at the same tournament, claimed five votes in the national poll.
At the NSU Men's Golf Classic, the Reddies shot 18-under 834 as a team across three rounds. All of Henderson's competitors finished with an individual score under the five-over threshold for the event. Jacob Knowlton was named the GAC's Golfer of the Week after an eight-under 205 performance at Muskogee Country Club. His third-round score of five-under 66 paced the field on the final day of tournament play.
On Monday, September 23, Henderson continues its fall slate at the Statesmen Classic hosted by Delta State in West Point, Mississippi.
