WEST POINT, Miss. - The Reddie men's golf team finished fifth at the Statesmen Classic at the Dunning Invitational thanks to a seven-under 281 performance as a team on Tuesday. Ethan Wilkins was the event's individual runner-up.
HSU finished its time at Mossy Oak Golf Course in West Point, Mississippi, with an overall score of 15-over 879.
Midwestern State took first at the event with a team score of five-under 859. The Mustangs also boasted the tournament's individual winner in the form of Seth Bearden, who scored 15-under 201 across three rounds. UT-Tyler (two-over 866) placed second, while Valdosta State (six-over 870) rounded out the podium in third. Host Delta State finished in fourth at eight-over 872.
Ethan Wilkins earned second place in the individual standings with a total score of five-under 211. Wilkins, Jacob Knowlton, Gus Fritz, and Cooper Williams all shot for par or better in the final round.
Next week, Henderson returns to its home course to host the Battle for the Belt at Hot Springs Country Club. The event tees off in the Spa City on Monday, September 30.
