BRAYDON REDD HIGHLIGHTS
ARKADELPHA, Ark. - Continuing a busy off-season for head coach
Jimmy Elgas and his staff, the Henderson State men's basketball team adds Braydon Redd from NCAA Division II Pittsburg State via the transfer portal to the 2024-25 team.
"Because we were losing [
Tomislav Miholjcic] and [
KJ Stewart] inside, we wanted to look to replace their size and skill set in this class," Elgas said. "We truly believe [Braydon Redd] will do that and more!"
Redd, a 6 foot 10 inch center from Houston, Texas, played one year for Pittsburg State after transferring from Seminole State College. In 24 games for the Gorillas, Redd averaged 5.7 points in 13.1 minutes per game off the bench with a 52.6 field-goal percentage.
The Lone Star State product recorded a season-high 19 points against Newman back on Dec. 7 this past season, hitting six of his eight shot attempts and knocking down 7-of-10 free throws, while also matching his season high with six rebounds. Redd scored in double figures in three of his first five games with PSU.
"[Redd] has incredible hands, can catch and finish inside, and also has the ability to operate on the perimeter which we are really excited about," Elgas said. "We know Big Redd's experience and age on the court will pay dividends with the rest of our squad."
Redd joins the additions of
high school stars Jameel Wesley and Rondae Hill, and a trio of All-Region NJCAA transfers in
Deazhon Perkins from Redlands Community College and
Angelina College's Xavier Owens and Nehikhare Igiehon.
