The 2015 Henderson State Reddie baseball team proved to be not only the most successful team to ever step onto the diamond at Clyde Berry Field, but one of the most enduring Cinderella stories in the history of the athletic department. Originally picked to finish ninth in the 2015 GAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Reddies flipped the script on doubters during a magical season that saw Henderson win 33 games, capture the program's first Central Region Championship, and dance well into the College World Series in Cary, North Carolina.

Despite playing just 10 home contests on a field that lacked turf and lights, the Reddies earned the final at-large bid to the NCAA Central Regional in St. Cloud, Minnesota — the first NCAA postseason berth for the program in school history. HSU was not content just being in Minnesota, however, and knocked off Emporia State, Minnesota State, and the No. 1 team in the country, the hosts St. Cloud State with a record of 51-4, twice to advance to the 2015 College World Series. In Cary, North Carolina, Henderson's winning ways continued, as they defeated the No. 10 team in the country, Angelo State, twice before bowing out in the semifinal round to eventual national champion Tampa.

Henderson State was the first GAC team to advance to the College World Series and remains to this day one of just two to reach the hallowed grounds of Cary, North Carolina. The 2015 team's magical season helped lay the groundwork for future success. The Reddies have since made three additional appearances in the NCAA Tournament and won the program's first GAC title in 2021. Four members of the 2015 Reddie baseball team have been inducted into the Hall of Honor as individuals.
