Billy Bock was head baseball coach and assistant football coach at Henderson State from 1976 to 1981. During his six years as the Reddie skipper he compiled a 98-69 record leading the Reddies to four District 17 Tournament appearances and an AIC Championship in 1979. Bock is a 1958 graduate of the University of the Ozarks where he played football and baseball. Bock was among the most prominent and successful High School baseball coaches in the country for four decades. His teams captured nine state baseball titles during his career which includes a state record five championships in a row. During his 44 years as a coach, His high school teams finished as state runners-up five times and appeared in 27 state tournaments and won 23 district championships with an overall record of 641-121 (.841). Bock earned numerous coaching awards. Collegiate Baseball named him Coach of the Decade for the 1980s and then Co-Coach of the Century, and US Baseball Coach of the Year for Arkansas just to mention a few. Bock achieved Hall of Fame status as he was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1996, the ABCA Hall Of Fame in 2004, the Arkansas High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2008 and the University of the Ozarks Hall of Fame in 2009.
