Green participated in football from 1975-78 and was named All-AIC from 1976-78 and NAIA All-District in 1978. Earned Honorable Mention NAIA All-American in 1977 and NAIA All-American in 1978. As team captain, he led the AIC in interceptions and punt returns in 1978. Green played 16 seasons in the NFL. In 1981, he became the first NFL player to start “both ways” (wide receiver, defensive back) in 21 years
