   Boyd Goldsby
was a two-time AIC Rifle Champion, and was runner-up twice while at Henderson from 1964-1968.
   In 1965, Goldsby won the National Service Junior Rifle Championship and in 1967 he claimed the National Highpower Rifle Collegiate Championship.
    While at Henderson, Goldsby was named to the President’s Hundred three times, an honor bestowed on the top 100 shooters in the United States.
    At the age of 18, he became one of the youngest people to be awarded the U.S. Distinguished Rifleman Badge.
    Goldsby entered the U.S. Army the day after graduation in 1968 and went on to serve in Vietnam and later in Germany before representing the United States internationally in competitive shooting for the U.S. Army.   
    Goldsby was part of four Championship of North & South America teams and two Pan American Game teams.
    A member of the 1980 US Olympic Team, he won 12 gold medals in international competition and five gold medals in the World Military Shooting Championships, and was the 1982 overall Individual Military World Champion in Beijing, China.
    Goldsby was also awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for the 1980 Olympic Team’s sacrifice in the U.S. boycott of the Moscow Olympics.
    Goldsby continued his success by claiming nine individual national shooting championships and was part of numerous national team championships.
    Goldsby has been inducted into three United States Army Hall of Fames including the USAMU Hall of Fame in 2010.
