Joe Dan Hart played football and baseball at HSU from 1957 to 1963. One  of the fiercest defensive ends in the AIC. Hart earned first-team All-AIC honors in 1958, 59 and 62, and was an honorable mention selection his freshman year in 1957. As a junior, Hart was honorable mention Little All-American pick. After serving his country in the military in 1960 and 1961, he returned to Henderson in 1962 and was named the team captain.
